The Dazzling Sights & Sounds

Nothing tops off the festival better than the dazzling sights and sounds of the Grand Parade. Watch a flotilla of more than 100 colorful floats, marching bands, bagpipers, drill teams, clowns, pirates, and other entries add to the merrymaking revelry.

The Parade begins at 76th Street NE, travels down State Avenue, and turns west on Fifth at the Marysville Civic Center. The event is conveniently located close to Exit 199 (Marysville-Tulalip) off I-5.

Parade Rules & Agreements

To ensure a safe and enjoyable parade, all participants must adhere to the following rules:

  1. The Marysville Strawberry Festival will NOT accept organizations with controversial agendas.
  2. The Parade Committee has full decision-making authority regarding parade content and participant behavior.
  3. Non-conforming units may be barred or removed.
  4. All entries must be approved by the Parade Committee.
  5. Only listed units in the official lineup may participate.
  6. Units that endanger or injure the public are prohibited.
  7. Units posing risks to public safety, health, or comfort, or that are indecent, are not allowed.
  8. NO material may be handed out or tossed to spectators. This is a critical safety rule.
  9. NO firearms, fireworks, or open flames are allowed.
  10. Alcohol and illegal drugs are forbidden.
  11. Units must maintain a 30-foot distance from the unit in front of them and close gaps when ordered to do so by Parade Officials.
  12. ALL UNITS must maintain forward motion, no speeding up, skidding, sudden braking and/or "wheelies" will be allowed.
  13. Maryfest, Inc. dba Marysville Strawberry Festival does NOT assume responsibility for travel, food, lodging expenses, security of units, vehicles, or personal items.
  14. Persons walking with unit (e.g., Band Parents, Float Escorts) MUST BE appropriately attired. NO strollers are allowed in the parade.
  15. Drivers of motorized units MUST HOLD a valid Driver's License and remain with unit from 3 PM on (3 PM for floats).
  16. All entries must be decorated and entertaining.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in the MARYSVILLE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL, the undersigned releases, waives, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Maryfest, Inc., the City of Marysville, Marysville School District #25, and all sponsors from any liability for personal injury, property loss, or damages arising from participation. This includes claims based on negligence. The undersigned also grants irrevocable rights to use their likeness in photographs and recordings for promotional purposes without compensation. This agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by Washington state law.

Driver must have this inspection sheet. Key items include:

  • Driver has 180-degree vision and proper ventilation.
  • Engine is clean and has a flame arrestor.
  • Brakes and tires are in good condition.
  • Float has at least one 2A10BC fire extinguisher (tagged within one year).
  • Tow hooks/straps are accessible.
  • All decorative materials must be flame-resistant.
  • Exhaust pipe extends 12 inches beyond the float apron.
  • Riders must have approved body supports or seat belts.
